I See Beauty Everywhere

about

I See Beauty Everywhere by Marc Block.

More or less self-explanatory, and a thing I think we can all do more of. I recycled the tune and bridge of an earlier song I’d written for a Faerie, having decided that the very fleeting relationship it was based on didn’t actually deserve a song.

lyrics

I don’t mind if the sun don’t shine, there’s beauty everywhere
Come, rain, fall, water all the flowers, and grow the food we share
I see beauty everywhere

In the smile of a child with big blue eyes
I see beauty when my mother smiles through my children’s beams
In lovers dancing on the riverbank
I see beauty in the wizened hands of elders recounting dreams

In the glinting dance of the light on the water
I see beauty in slender youth with long blond hair
Two sleeping boys on a goodbye morning
I see beauty where eagles fly in the high mountain air

And the dancing, oh the dancing
Sparks and little arrows flying wild
Hands and arms and locked eyes beguiled
Never known dancing so entrancing

In the garden’s calm on an afternoon in summer
I see beauty where our voices resound in sacred places
In the greening of the trees in their upswelling
I see beauty as a rainbow of love the world embraces
